The MR series of synthesizers offer several standard arrangements of 9000 series modules housed in a professional brushed aluminum rack enclosure with an internal high current power supply. The MC series features a vintage type, slanted hardwood console with extruded aluminum guide rails. One look at the 9000 series modules and you can see why they cost more than their contemporary or European counterparts. Silver flowchart diagrams on durable black anodized backgrounds facilitate comprehension of signal flow instantly. Military specification grade controls with high quality knobs, graduated dials and Switchcraft hardware assure years of reliable operation. But the differences are not just skin deep. Inside, expertly selected, ultra linear, low noise, transistors and capacitors, glass epoxy printed circuit boards with minimal trace runs, hand assembled with military spec components produce a sound no virtual synth can touch. A qualified, intuitive, retrospective, yet modern design process, These elements all come together to form an instrument of unparalleled quality and audio fidelity. Here at CMS, synthesizers are truly an art form. All research and development, electronic and mechanical design, PC board manufacturing, control panel machining, hand assembly, hand wiring, mechanical assembly, component selection, and testing is performed by hand. The MR-2 is a high quality, compact, rack mount, patchable modular synthesizer. It contains all the basic elements needed for patchable subtractive synthesis. The MR-2 now features a discrete signal path as standard equipment. The 3 VCOs utilize our recently developed discrete ultra-linear precision VCO submodules to attain the ultimate in harmonic content and stability. The dual mode filter uses our new Phatron ladder filter for deep bass and ripping high end. The signal path is finished off with our new discrete VCA circuit. It also features: 3 high speed envelope generators, a true analog balanced modulator, 2 mixers, an externally triggered lag processor, CV buss processor and a high speed, remote sensing power supply. All of this is encased in a luxurious extruded aluminum rack cabinet. Now you can have the big sound of discrete without the big bite in the wallet. The MR-2 is hand made using North American parts, not pacific rim scrap used by so many of our competitors. That's why CMS / discrete synthesizers often cost more than other systems currently available. |

The MR-15 is our medium level, patchable modular synthesizer. It is easily installed in any standard 12 space rack. The MR-15 utilizes 12 of our 9000 series modules installed in a sturdy extruded aluminum rack enclosure. The MR-15 packs lots of patchable analog processing in a small space. Standard equipment for 2004 includes: 4 ultra-linear discrete precision VCOs, 1 Phatron filter, 1 Super-Transistor discrete filter, (both are 24Db , 1 lowpass and 1 highpass/lowpass, enabling 24 Db bandpass and notch functions), 2 high fidelity discrete VCAs with line level 1/4 inch output jacks, 6 envelope generators, 2 discrete 4 x 1 mixers (using our new, discrete, high slew-rate op amp modules), a fully equipped sample and hold circuit, a voltage controlled clock, a real analog noise generator including slow random, A voltage controlled harmonic multiplier, a voltage controlled balanced modulator with an integrated voltage controlled mixer, 3 LFO's, a voltage triggered lag processor, a CV/gate input section with CV mixer for modulation of all VCO's simultaneously, a gate delay, a low noise power supply with high speed remote sensing, industrial grade 12 space extruded aluminum rack cabinet. The MR-15 packs the "true discrete" sound into a practical and beautiful package. Years of extensive research into differential transistor design have gone into the design of these new and powerful sounding modules. We know our systems cost more - we designed them that way. |
