The
MR-15 is based on an arrangement of modules requested by Dr. Thomas
L. Rhea (formerly of Moog Music) for his class on modular synthesis
at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. We thought this
a practical assortment of functions, so we are now offering it
as a standard arrangement.
The
MR-15 is an ideal choice for institutions reviving their much
needed and requested, modular synthesis programs. Studies have
shown that students who take even a brief course in "hands
on" modular synthesis, understand all forms of synthesis
better, analog, virtual analog, DSP and even sampling.
The
MR-15 uses a normalized patching method - the most often used
output-to-input connections are internally pre-wired with clearly
defined graphics. Patch cords, when used, will automatically disconnect
the pre-wired patches. All signal paths are illustrated in clear-as-crystal
panel graphics that aid "block-diagramming" of complete
patches. This graphic presentation of the signal flow is not only
an important teaching asset, but also leads the user into exploration
of patches that might otherwise have been overlooked. Easily expandable:
As C.M.S. continues to develop more exotic modules, You can expand
and develop your palette of colors.
